Jack turns 2!

I can't believe it's been two years since this little boy turned me into a mother.  He is the funniest thing you ever met! Here are a few of my favorite things about Jack:
- He will run up to me and give me a huge bear hug in the middle of the day for no reason at all.
- He LOVES mustard. He would eat it with a spoon if I let him.
- He loves to sing. If I sing him a song once, he will sing it along with me the very next time.
- He is one smart cookie!  He loves to label anything and everything: people's names, shapes, colors, numbers, letters- he even knows what sound all the letters make!
- He loves my hair.  He runs his hands through it constantly and says, "Pretty, Mommy." (Most of the time I love this; sometimes it makes me crazy.)
- He loves the Temple.  He wants to sing the song every night, and gets so excited when we drive by it.  Every church we pass, he asks "Pemple?"

He makes us laugh everyday with the silly things he says.  Here are a few of my favorites:
- "I don't know, either" (in response to "Where is the ____?")
-" "Pardon-a me!" whenever he farts or burps.
- "Cuppy, where are you?"
- "Boo!" He'll jump out to surprise me.
- "Oh goody!"
- "No, Pop it!" (stop it!)
- "Daddy is a boy. Mommy a boy- no, Mommy is girl.  Jack-Jack is a boy!"
- "Jack-Jack do it!" (when he wants to do something himself)
- "Amen! All done church!" (after closing prayer in Sacrament Meeting)

These are a few highlights of our birthday celebrations:
He loved this hat and would NOT take it off all day long.
Except briefly to go to the library.
He was very excited to have pizza with pepperonis for dinner.  That pizza guy never made a kid happier!
We were super short on time, so we ate our pizza in the back of the car before the movie.
We took Jack to see Cars 2.  It was a Thursday night at the sticky shoe, so there were only about 6 other kids there.  We let him cheer and laugh and yell (at the bad cars) as much as he wanted.
It snowed the morning of his birthday party.  He just kept saying, "(s)now, Mama, (s)now, Mama!" over and over.  You would have thought it was raining jelly beans!
We made a little treasure map for his birthday party.
First stop, Ring-a-round the Rosies Room.
 Next stop- Cupcake Corner.

He had a very purple cake.  Purple is his favorite color. The kid is obsessed with it, seriously.  His second favorite is brown.  I have no idea where he comes up with this stuff.  Whatever happened to blue and green and orange?
 "Eww, I'm sticky, Mommy!"
Finally, X marks the spot in Present Paradise.
He shouted out, "Money!" when he opened Grandma Chamberlain's card.  How does he even know what that is?  I don't know. I rarely use cash.

We had a great time, and Ned managed to hold off getting food poisoning until after all the birthday festivities were over.  Jack loves to tell people he is two now.  Like strangers at the grocery store and the teller at the bank.  At least he's friendly! We love this little boy so much and can't wait to watch him become a big brother this next year!

Halloween 2011

We started out the Halloween festivities by carving pumpkins with Rob and Lori's kids.  We've done this every year since Ned and I got engaged, I think.  Jack loved sorting out the seeds for me so we could roast them.

This year we went as Rastafarian, the Cat in the Hat, and a pregnant skeleton.

Jack loved the pumpkins!  He would give them a hug every chance he got.
 Jack and Daddy in action!
The three amigos- we have Dexter as a tiger, Jack as Cat in the Hat, and Austin as a boy riding a chicken.  These guys are buddies!
I had to throw in this picture of Miss Avery.  She was determined that I was going to make her a Cinderella costume this year, and it turned out pretty cute (for having no pattern to go off of).  She loves to wear it, and that makes me happy!

Pumpkin Patch 2011

Going to the Pumpkin Patch is one of my favorite fall traditions.  This time Daddy got to come with us!

Jack loved the giant pumpkins.  He wanted to climb them!
 Lost in the corn maze.

He also loved these cut-outs.  He had to stop and pose at every single one!

A sticky situation

Cutting those 2 year old molars calls for a popsicle!

My curly headed boy!

 I love these boys!
